Renault Introduces Clio Alpine

The return of the Alpine name is to be marked by the introduction of a new chic and sporty version of Renault's subcompact berline which takes a current-day stance on the cues long associated with the Alpine world.

The fourth-generation version of Clio is manufactured at the historic factory in Dieppe, Normandy, and comes with features developed for the new A110 to do justice to Alpine's glorious motor sport heritage.

Customers will be able to specify either the 1.3 TCE 130 petrol engine or the BluedCi 115 diesel powerplant, both mated with six-speed EDC transmission.

The Renault Clio Alpine is a numbered, limited edition production run of 1,955 cars. 1,955 refers to the year that Jean Redele launched Alpine. It‘s essentially a Renault Sport GT Line model. Its equipment specification features all the best features of the mainstream Clio range, plus an unmistakable 'French Touch':

  • Alpine Blue, Noir Profond (black) or Blanc Solaire (white) paint,
  • Two feisty, responsive engines - the 1.3 TCE 130 petrol engine or the BluedCi 115 diesel powerplant - with a distinctive, specially-tuned engine pitch under acceleration,
  • Two driver modes with 'Normal', and 'Sport' settings,
  • Powerful, durable braking performance with 2-piston fixed front calipers (280mm) and single-piston fixed rear calipers (240mm),
  • Steering wheel-mounted gearshift paddles
  • Precise, incisive steering for even greater fun at the wheel.

Also, similar to Alpine A110 Pure, Clio Alpine is equipped with:

  • 'Sport' chassis with 17" ten-spoke alloy wheels,
  • Lightweight Sabelt bucket front seats,
  • Black leather / microfiber interior,
  • Matt carbon fibre finish on centre console, air vents and instrument panel visor,
  • Multimedia system with 7" touchscreen,
  • Steering wheel with Bleu Alpine logo in centre,
  • Brushed aluminium pedals and passenger footrest.

Prices will be published when order books open in France on May 2, 2019.
